Obituary of Ethel Lee Varner Senn

Ethel Lee Varner Senn, 91, widow of Martin Leon Senn, resident of Lexington, passed away on October 24, 2019 at Agape Hospice House.

Born November 13, 1927 in Lynn County, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Bobby Lee and Vernie Grace Arnold Varner. Not only a devoted wife, mother and grandmother she cherished all of her family and loved visiting them when she could. A longtime member of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Clyde Hendrix Circle of the UMW, the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class and the Young At Heart. She loved her church and served in many ways over the years – volunteering in the church office, working in the kitchen, baby sitting in the nursery and Mother’s Morning Out, teaching Sunday School, playing the Handbells and singing in the choir.

She is survived by three daughters, Joyce (Richard) Wingate, Linda (Len) Bell and Betty (Bobby) Wise all of Lexington; one sister, Bobbie Joyce Shay of Austin TX; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Glenn) Deslandes, Kirk (Serena) Gunter and Kara Gunter (Tom Dempster) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Laura Ann Miller, Betty Grace Scott and Mary Jo Marak.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, October 28th at Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Gunter, Glenn Deslandes, Tom Dempster, Kenneth McIntosh, John George, William McIntosh and Jonathan Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Clyde Hendrix Circle and the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class.
