Obituary of Carolyn Boland Bickley
Carolyn Boland Bickley, 100, widow of Charlie Haskell Bickley, former resident of Cayce, passed away on June 19, 2019 at National Health Care of Columbia.
Born June 28, 1918 in Prosperity, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Irving and Eunice Mae Boland. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of West Columbia until she moved to National Health Care. She was a loving wife and mother, with her greatest joy being gardening and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Guba and husband Theodore of West Columbia; a son, Bruce Bickley and wife Vickie Lovett of Cayce; one son-in-law, John Curry of Lexington; two grandchildren, Greg Bickley and Robin Cox, and one great-grandchild, Liam Cox. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie, her beloved daughter, Judith Curry, five sisters, Ruby Bedenbaugh, Nellie Rae Rauch, Frances Bickley, Christine Huffstetler and Aileen Shealy; four brothers, Monroe Boland, Waldo Boland, J.I. Boland, Jr. and George Boland.
Funeral Services will be conducted 3 PM, Sunday, June 23, from the Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Pastor Vance Fossum officiating. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W Dunbar Road, West Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 PM prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Baxter, Seth Bickley, Brandon Catoe, Billy Cox, Jason Lang, and Chris Tindal.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2920 Pella Ave, West Columbia, SC 29170, in her memory.
Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the Bickley family.
