Obituary of Lois S. Shumpert

Lois S. Shumpert, 77, of Gaston, South Carolina went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 10, 2019.  She was born on June 1, 1942 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Clyde T. Shoemake and Annie B.  Shoemake.

Lois was a faithful member of Dolorosa Worship Center for many years, where played the organ and piano.  She loved hunting and fishing.   In her younger years she loved to travel and visited thirty-eight states.  Lois loved her family. 

Lois  is survived by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Richard  "RJ" Shumpert;  her mother, Annie B Shoemake; son, Randy (Jan) Shumpert; daughter, Renee (Tom) West;  daughter-in-law, Susan Shumpert; her sisters, Edith Dooley and Judy (Fred) Howard; her brothers, Derrial (Linda) Shoemake  and Billy (Patricia) Shoemake, grandchildren, Rick (Hannah) Shumpert, Scott Shumpert, Andrew (Leah) Shumpert, Daniel Shumpert, Caleb West, Ethan Robinson, Chance  Robinson, Skyeler Robinson and Elijah Robinson; and her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Rhett, Silas and the newest addition. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky A. Shumpert.  

The family will receive friends at Dolorosa Worship Center, 376 Old Charleston Road, Pelion, SC 29123 on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.   Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Doolittle officiating.   Burial will be in Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170 at 4:00 p.m.   Memorials may be made in Lois' name to Dolorosa Worship Center in Pelion.
