Obituary of Lillie Gray Hatfield

Lillie Gray Hatfield was born August 24, 1927 in Birmingham Alabama to Bill and Ellen Gray and she was promoted to glory on June 5, 2019.  Lillie was married to the late Aldred E. Hatfield for 52 years and was a beloved mother to her four children.

Lillie is survived by her brother, William C. Gray (Carolyn), her two daughters, Alderesa Starnes (Danny), Kay Teague (Joe) and one son Aldred E. Hatfield Jr.  She is also survived by her pride and joys ~~ her four grandchildren, Joey Teague, Nichole Teague Ricard, Justin Starnes and Jordan Starnes, her four great grandchildren and her niece and nephews.  Lillie is also survived by her life-long friend, Mary Bonner Merritt.  

Lillie was predeceased by her husband Aldred, her daughter Lillie Denise Hatfield, her grandson Danny Jeffery Starnes and her sister Betty Virginia Gray.

Lillie was a dedicated member of Christ Sanctified Holy Church for eighty-one (81) years.

After raising her children, Lillie worked at the SC Highway Department for ten plus years before retiring to take care of her husband.  

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Friday, June 7th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church, 823 Jackson Street, West Columbia.

A funeral service will be held at Christ Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia on Sunday, June 9th at 2:00 pm.  Burial, in the CSHC cemetery, will immediately follow the service.
