Obituary of Philip W. Henschel

 

A journey that began in Birmingham, Alabama on February 26th, 1936 ended on June 4, 2019 in Columbia, SC with the passing of Philip W. "Bill" Henschel. Bill lived in many parts of the country including California, Tennessee, Georgia, Iowa, and Nebraska before settling in South Carolina. He served in the USAF as an airborne radio operator aboard an RC-121 Super Constellation flying missions over the North Atlantic. He retired from the Block Drug Company where he was a Regional Vice President of Sales for the Southeast Region.

 

Bill is survived by his wife Harriett Henschel, his son Jim Henschel (Diane), stepson Larry Jacobs, stepdaughter Troy Herlihy, (Dan), Grandchildren Nicole Santana (Sarah) and Tyler Henschel, Kent and Jacob Herlihy, his first wife June Hendrix, brother Dr. Tommy Henschel (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Hallie Henschel, and parents Phil and Virginia Henschel of North Augusta, SC.

 

A funeral service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12:30 pm, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation will follow the burial at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Those who wish may make donations to Animal Protection League of Columbia, SC.
