Norma Hoopes

Obituary of Norma Jean Boulware Hoopes

Norma Jean Boulware Hoopes was born into a large family on January 9, 1941 in Winnsboro, South Carolina.  She was a person of great faith no matter the trials or tribulations that came her way. She had a very personal relationship with the Lord.  She attended church every Sunday and if needed on the weekdays as well.  Norma served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – the Australia Brisbane Mission, the Florida Orlando Mission and the Oregon Portland Mission.  Norma was a very beautiful woman and loved to live life to the fullest. Everyone who knew her knew she never left the house without her hair being perfect and her lipstick on - no matter what! She started a family at the age of 21 and gave birth to four children.  She raised her family in the church and held many callings in her lifetime. She taught her children how to sew, can food, and many other valuable life skills.  Every time grandchildren had an event she was there. She enjoyed her grandchildren and spoiled them.  Norma made countless friends where ever she went or lived.   Her passions were Genealogy and missionary work.  She always took her children and grandchildren to cemeteries around the state to look for family names.  She wanted them to be excited about genealogy.

Norma leaves behind her SISTER, Carol Halladay (Hal); CHILDREN, Cynthia O'Sullivan (Sean), Melissa Gilmore, Pamelia Bell (Rusty), Elizabeth Reynolds (Cass), John Reynolds (Tammy), Ronnie Gantt (Tammy) and Jimmy Gantt (Elsa);  GRANDCHILDREN, Jonathan, Richie, Taz, Amanda, Anna, Sam, Devin, Mallery, Laken, Taryn, Hallie, Russell, Logan, Lindsay, Landon, Briana (Logan), Brandi, Brooke, Caleb, Dylan and Quetzalli.

She is going to be reunited with her parents, David and Cynthia Boulware; her brother and sisters; as well as other family members that have passed on before her.
