I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Dennis's passing. I thought the world of him. I enjoyed dealing with him on equipment and calling on him and visiting with him either at the sand pit or the office when he was in there while I was with John Deere.Talking about construction work, farming or his mules, and not to mention his family I really enjoyed spending time with him.I know Nikki and Helen were always on his mind he loved you all very much. He was straight forward with you and said what he meant and meant what he said. You knew where you stood with him at all times. He will certainly be missed they do not make them like him anymore.

My entire childhood was spent somewhere between Rocky Ford, GA and Gaston, SC around Mr Dennis. He and my Dad were basically fraternal twins. Whenever my Dad was going to Mr Dennis house to tag team a project, or was it work, it didn’t matter, my brothers and I wanted to go, or was it, had to go. It was just amazing to watch them work out a problem or we’d get into something else. There were no cell phones and internet back then. You just had to be there. Any time I came home to visit, and see my Dad down at the sandpit, Mr Dennis was either coming or going. I had a conversation with him at the sand pits last year, and he talked about my Dad, and how much he loved and respected him. I said, “Mr Dennis, you may as well be talking to a mirror.” He laughed. If I could speak to him again, I would thank him again for loving my Dad like the Brother he was. You will be missed.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the promises at Revelation 21:4 that reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life.

Family and friends you have my deepest sympathy. This is a difficult time for most. There are basic things that can help anyone get through the pain no matter what age, gender or religious beliefs. Many have been helped with the twelve basics or just a few. You can go to jw.org and get the basics with no cost ever. See the article “Help for those who grieve “ in the magazine section. Anyone can get help and comfort.

Dennis was like a second father to me and Nikki, Helen and Abbie are my family. They took care of me all throughout high school and now into undergraduate school and law school. He was kind and funny and straight forward, which sometimes people took to mean harsh when it was really just trying to snap you out of whatever bad decision you were making because he loved you and wanted the best for you, always. He loved people fiercely, especially his family. He could always be counted on to do whatever anyone needed him to do and to give advice whenever it was needed. I will miss him so much.
To Nikki and mom and Abbie, I’m here for whatever you need always. I love you all so much. He loved you more than anything in the world, never ever forget it.
