Obituary of James Kevin Bowen

James Kevin Bowen met his Heavenly Father on March 28th, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 5, 1960 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Willie Charles and Bertha (Ballard) Bowen. He was a rambunctious, mischievous, competitive little boy who spent his early years playing baseball, jumping his bike off of everything he could, and following his brother and sister around. In 1966 the Bowen's moved from Tennessee to Cayce, SC. Kevin went to the Dixie Youth World Series in 1972 and his love for baseball never wavered. Kevin also attended Brooklyn-Cayce High School where he played football and graduated in 1978. Upon graduation, his love for working on heavy equipment began at Transco and he then moved on to Armstrong Clover Dale, before he finally spent almost 30 years at Sun Machinery. He always had a love of working with his hands and you could often find him working on some project in his garage.

His love for family was always first in his life. His daughters Nikki, Jordan, Kayla were always keeping his life interesting. He passed on his love of sports on to each of them in his own special way. His son KB shared his love of fishing. He leaves 9 grandchildren who loved their Paw Paw dearly. He met the love of his life, Lisa 20 years ago and she has been his rock. The many memories that they have made have brought so much comfort during these past months. His final days were spent surrounded by his family. Kevin is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Amber Bowman (Michael), Jordan Bowen, Kayla Moody (Kyle), Allison Manning; son, Kenneth Brannon; mother, Bertha Bowen; father, Willie Bowen (Bridgette); brothers, Steve Bowen, Jeff Bowen; sister-in-law’s, Rossie Bowen,  Beverly Wyka (Mike); grandchildren, Kaytlin, Hunter, Phillip, Mercedes, Jace, Bryson and Sneijder,  He was preceded in death by his son, James Matthew Bowen.
