James "Buck" Bussey

Obituary of James "Buck" William Bussey

Eastover—James "Buck" William Bussey, 65, of Eastover, South Carolina passed away March 15, 2019.  He was born on October 20, 1953 in Eastover, South Carolina to the late James Bussey and Barbara  (Simmons) Bussey.

Buck's love for life was only superseded by his love for the open road with the wind in his hair, while riding his motorcycle.  He was a loving husband of 30 years.  Buck was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.   He cherished many moments while racing dirt bikes and mopeds with co-workers.  Buck enjoyed spending time with his high school buddies and celebrating all life had to offer.  He was a faithful member of East Columbia PH Church.  Buck was an Assistant Scout Master of the Boy Scouts of America and a very proud father of an Eagle Scout.   He never met a stranger and was willing to help others.

James is survived by his wife Keren Bussey; his mother, Barbara Bussey;  his son, James (Caitlyn) Bussey; his daughter, Jaimee (David) Bussey-Camacho; his grandsons, Alec and Aedon; his sister, Laverne Lewis; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.   Funeral services will follow at 4:00PM with Pastor Hugh Ward officiating.  A private internment will be held at a later time.
