Obituary of Marlene Ann Hamilton

Marlene Ann Hamilton, 81, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away March 11, 2019.  She was born on November 30, 1937 in Manteno, Illinois to the late Clarence and Rebecca Hendrickson Monnette.

Marlene was a very dedicated and loving wife of fifty-one years to her husband, Billy.   She was also a loving mother to Steven.  Marlene was a great sister to three siblings.  She was an amazing and very involved grandmother and great-grandmother.   Marlene enjoyed playing cards and drinking coffee with her friends.  She loved watching scary movies with her great-granddaughter as well as coloring with her "girls".

Marlene is survived by her son, Steven Hamilton; her grandson, Shane Hamilton; her granddaughter, Ashley Smith; great-granddaughters, Lily Lopez and Kelsie Manning; and extended grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy D. Hamilton; her brother, Norman; and sisters, Thelma and Cruella.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.   Interment will be in Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229 on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Family and friends may send flowers to Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
