It was a great privilege for me to work with Frankie during our years together in Lexington Two. I recall the first time I met Frankie in August of 1987, she was taking one of the Board members on a tour of Airport High School before the school year started. I was a newly hired teacher, putting up a bulletin board in my classroom, when she came in my room to greet me and welcome me to Lexington Two. She was dressed in regal purple with matching high heels and I recall thinking what a gracious and regal person that she was. Little did I know, that Frankie would serve as a leadership role model for me during the years leading up to my becoming Superintendent of Lexington Two. Frankie loved her family, Brookland Cayce High School, her church, her city and her District. I am so grateful to have worked with Frankie during my tenure in Lexington Two and I am grateful that I had a chance to thank her for her many contributions at my retirement reception. Please accept my condolences on the passing of this lovely lady. Venus Holland

Great memories of my 6th grade at BC #2. Ms. Newman was one of my very favorite school teachers. Very strict! Which was a great trait for teachers to have then and even more so now. Kept in touch over the years. Knew I loved windmills and she brought me one for my birthday not many years ago. I still cherish it. We invited her to fish in our pond in the Spring of 2006. She showed up very early, at the crack of dawn, that morning in a dress and high heel shoes. She caught more fish than her son, Lila or me! However, we had hot-dogs for lunch in our gazebo beside the pond. Great memories! She will be greatly missed by many folks!
Love & prayers to you all during this very sad and difficult time in your lives.

There are few women I’ve known who were cut from the same cloth as Mrs. Frank-Frank. Always lifting up lovingly and speaking often of the memory of her beloved Tom and always her positive urging of us to be our best selves she exemplified higher standards for self and others. She believed in me and almost everyone I heard her speak of. She rose above the stereotypes of what was expected from a woman and demonstrated by hard work and poise how strong we could be. Her mothering style is a huge inspiration to me and is one I’m sure I’ll try and emulate thru all of life. She taught her children to work hard, contribute, and rise above the ordinary yet with an humble character. I will miss tailgating with and sharing fancy get-togethers with the one of a kind Mrs. Frankie Newman but am thrilled she’ll be reunited with her life love.
