Obituary of Annie Ruth Melton

Annie Ruth Melton, 72, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away February 2, 2019 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on March 16, 1946 in Chester, South Carolina.

In addition to caring for her beautiful family, Mrs. Melton enjoyed, decorating, dancing and gardening.

Annie is survived by her loving husband, James Edwards Melton Jr.; her mother, Elizabeth Wingard; two sons, James E. Melton III and Antonio L. Melton; two daughters, Lisa Cummins and Candace Melton; a sister, Judy Ferrell; fourteen grandchildren, Amy Epting, Amanda Hernandez, Michael Cummins, Ciara Harris, Ian James Melton, Tabitha A. Irving, Ariella A. White, Blythe A. Melton, Charlice W. Melton, Cindy Martin, Jenn Cummins, Kameron Truesdale, Denver Truesdale and Korri Truesdale; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher Epting, John Hernandez, Maximus Cummins, James T. White and Layla Martin.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
