Obituary of Ann Averette

Leila Ann Averette, 70, of West Columbia, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, January 28th, 2019. A native of Manning, South Carolina and born on November 22nd, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Leroy Spigner and Mary Dennis Spigner. Ann enjoyed visiting the coast, reading poetry, playing games with family and spending time with her dog, Shamba.  Ann also had a deep appreciation and love for the armed forces. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy”  Averette and son, Patrick Shane Averette.  Ann was loved by all she came in contact with for her spirited personality and nurturing nature

 She is survived by her sister, Dale (Odis) Dickerson, brothers: Donnie (Margaret) Spigner and Alvin “Buddy” (Joyce) Spigner; Nieces: Dana (Carl) Sherwood, Stacy (Max) Williams and Toni (Kyle) Steblein; Nephews: Don Spigner, Michael “Chad” (Jessica) Spigner, Patrick Spigner, Clay Spigner and Brent Spigner along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The visitation will be held at 2:00pm until 2:45pm on Thursday, January 31st, with the funeral service, immediately following at 3:00pm, at Thompson Funeral Home, located at 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC 29073. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Garden located at 700 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170.

 In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital or Pineview Baptist Church-Building Fund.
