Obituary of Francis M. Whetsell

Francis M. “Frank/Frankie” Whetsell 56, entered into enteral rest on January 8, 2019 at Richland Memorial Hospital. Born July 7, 1962 to Sandra and William A. Whetsell in Orangeburg, SC. Frank graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Frank was a Master Machinist, and worked at Whetsell’s Tool and Dye in West Columbia for many years. Frank was a loving father to Casey Humphries (Chris), and a wonderful Papabear to Cylis and Corbyn Humphries.

In addition to his parents, Frank is also survived by his sister; Melissa (Lisa) Derrick, and two nieces, and many loving relatives and friends. Frank was predeceased by his wife; Kathy Ketten Whetsell, and son Corey Adam Whetsell. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday January 11, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington 4720 Augusta Road Lexington, SC 29073. Funeral service for Frank will be held 11 AM Saturday January 12, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church 1600 Ebenezer Road Bowman, SC 29018. Burial will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
