Obituary of Allen Kovach

Graveside Services for Allen Kovach will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at 1 p.m. An obituary for Mr. Kovach will be posted at a later date.

Allen Kovach was utterly selfless, humble, and a servant of the Lord. He exemplified Christ in his job, as well as at home where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He loved them unconditionally. He was wholly devoted to his wife, Maureen, and always so proud of and encouraging to his two sons, Nathan and Brian.

He cherished life’s quiet moments, and took favor in the more simple things. He studied the Bible for hours in the backyard or at the kitchen counter daily, and never took for granted his weekly visit to Panera with mom. He loved going on long family walks - a little drizzle never hurt anyone, he’d say if it started to rain. He always looked forward to driving the golf cart while Brian played - coaching and cheering him on from the side. But probably his most cherished life moments were when he was playing catch with his sons.

He excelled at making sausage egg & cheese sandwiches - a staple after church on Sundays. And during the holidays, he would somehow always get away with eating more than the allotted # of Christmas Cookies we could have after dinner, but it’s ok. :-)

To my brother and me he was Big Daddy, the Big Kahuna, and to my mom he was her Hero and Knight in Shining Armor. That was our Dad.

Most importantly, he was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the glorious reunion that would await him after his passing.

He is now resting in eternal Glory with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Predeceased by his father Steve, and sister Stephanie. Survived by his brother John, and mother Helen.
