Josh Brazell passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018. Born in Columbia, he was a son of Derrick Brazell and Melissa Montgomery. Josh, at the young age of 26, lived a lifetime. He owned at least 4 cars and two motorcycles and experienced work from being a cook, managing a retail store and his most recent career. His circle of friends was vast and true.  Not one of them would say he was anything but caring, funny, and always looking for that one great laugh. Josh knew no strangers, he greeted everyone with an infectious smile that will spread across the years, go ahead think of Josh and feel the smile well up inside. Josh was a lover not a fighter. When you listen to the stories surrounding Josh you will always hear the same vital thread that defined him… he was always smiling, in a good mood and making you feel great. His love and zest for life  consisted of family, sports from a young age, fast cars and motorcycles, music and a newly found desire for kids. Family was always first with Josh whether it be blood or extended, family was it. He was there for you no matter what, helping anyway he could and always leaving you with a smile. His love of sports started with football then lacrosse and over the years a bitter rivalry with brother Cass over NHL hockey. Cass loves the Bruins and of course Josh pulled for the Blackhawks. Never a game would go by without heated competition.  Like all motorcyclist if he wasn't in a fast car, he was on two wheels... knees in the wind. The love of music is as individual as a fingerprint and Josh’s musical fingerprint was made of groups like Whitechapel, Mayday Parade, Neck Deep, and others. At concerts Meagan, Cass, Josh and friends would all sing along at the top of their lungs, and risk bodily harm in the mosh pit or crowd surfing, always invincible. Then there was a family friend with a toddler that got Josh to thinking about the future. A photo with Josh sitting on his Harley  holding this friend’s young son shows two very happy guys. The son open mouthed with exhilaration and Josh grinning from ear to ear. We all believe it was that moment that solidified his new found direction in life. Josh recently began a new job with his best friend’s father and believe it or not his excitement made him want to be there on time. You know how his watch was set to Josh time and not real world time, so this was big. Family and close friends know his life was becoming enriched with thoughts of his own family and stability. Though we will never know just how enriched Josh’s life would have been we are certain our lives are enriched from his love of family, friends, cars and motorcycles, music and a true Zest for life.  In Josh’s own words “RAISE HELL… PRAISE DALE”

Josh is survived by his parents, Derrick Brazell (Deidra) of West Columbia, and Melissa Montgomery of West Columbia; sister, Meagan Brazell; brother, Cass Brazell; step-sister, Kristen Davis; maternal grandmother, Beth W.
