Obituary of SPC Donavon McDonald

SPC Donavon McDonald, 21, of West Columbia, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 13, 2018. He was born in Syracuse, NY on May 17, 1997 to Cheryl and Bobby McDonald.  He was a member of White Knoll High School JROTC for four years. Donavon attended Francis Marion University and served honorably in the United States Army Reserve Corps of Combat Engineers. He enjoyed his position and friendships with his coworkers at Lowe’s. Donavon spent his life helping and serving others. He will be greatly missed!

He is survived by his mother and bonus dad, Cheryl and Dean; his father, Bobby (Sandy); 3 sisters, Tabitha, Alyssa and Ashlyn; 4 brothers, Trey, Nico, Brandon, and Joshua; grandparents, Rendell C. Campbell Sr., Robert and Laura McDonald, Linda Babb and Barbara Nelson; aunts and uncles, Rendell C. Campbell Jr. (Stacey), Airin Demers (Lee), Rebecca Gleaton (Chad), Rebecca Shannon (Eddie), Virginia Dawkins, Linda Nelson and Joseph Babb; and numerous cousins and relatives.

He was predeceased by a grandmother, Ernestine F. Campbell; a uncle, Shawn McDonald; and a brother, Chris Nelson.

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
