Larry Fender

Obituary of Larry Thomas Fender

Larry Fender Passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018.  Born in Hahira, GA, he was a son of the late Troy Thomas Fender and Edna Roe Fender.  He was a loving husband, caring father, fun grandfather, and a friend to all.

He was married to Myra, the love of his life, for 41 years and extremely involved in his children’s lives.  He helped start and coach the Oak Grove softball league, as well as coaching soccer for multiple years.  In addition to coaching, he had a passion for the outdoors.  From dove hunting with his son to fishing at Lake Murray with his best friend, Al, some of his fondest memories were deep sea fishing in Florida and salmon fishing in the Campbell River in British Columbia.  He also loved traveling and spending time with his wife on trips to Alaska, California, South America, Vegas, the Caribbean, and Cape Cod to name a few.

Larry was extremely outgoing and never met a stranger.  He had a way of making everyone smile and feel comfortable.  He loved to tell jokes, and he was famous for his “Larryisms”.  He will be missed by all!

Larry is survived by his loving wife,  Myra S. Fender; daughters, Rachel Hardin of Lexington, Shana Tyner (Brad) of Lexington; son, Brandon Fender (Jesse) of Asheville, NC; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters Betty Knight (James) of Columbia, Wanda Daughtry (Don) of Ft.
