Obituary of Laura Christine Broughton

Laura Christine Broughton, 84, of West Columbia, wife of the late Cecil Broughton, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was born on December 18, 1933 in Kershaw County to the late Emory S. Rodgers and Annie Mae Deese. She was a long standing member of Congaree Baptist Church.

Laura is survived by three sons, Brian Broughton, Robbie Broughton (Sylvia) and Dale Broughton (Guillerma); seven brothers and sisters, Joyce Estridge, Rabon Rodgers, Aron Rodgers, Bruce Rodgers, Joann Morrissette, Kent Rodgers and Coletta Woods; and six grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vaudearie Anderson and Frances Horton.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Congaree Baptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park.
