Obituary of Carrie "Carol" Neal Jackson
A Celebration of Life service for Carrie “Carol” Neal Jackson, 91, of the Heritage at Lowman, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 25, 2018, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Celestial Memorial Gardens, 3111 Delree Street, West Columbia, SC 29170. Pastor Dan Rabon will officiate. Burial in Celestial Memorial Gardens will follow the service. The family will greet friends following the service at the Mausoleum Chapel at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Mrs. Jackson went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Lexington Medical with her family by her bedside. Born in Camden, Carol was a daughter of the late Thomas J Neal and Fannie Sara Neal. She was a faithful charter member of Taylor Street Baptist Church in Cayce, and she loved the Lord. Carol retired from Belk Howard Department Store in Cayce after more than 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed, and who was deeply loved by all who knew her.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Patricia Clough (Bill) of Lexington, Carolyn McDowell of Lexington; grandchildren, Bill Clough (Jill) of Arlington, TX, Mike Clough (Kim) of Lexington, Carol Beckwith (Greg) of Lexington, Mark Duncan (Andrea) of Lexington, Kelly McDowell (Jim) of Asheville, NC; great-grandchildren, Lily, Hank, Maddie, Seth, Josh, Lauren, Abbie, Austin; brother, Lee Neal of Aiken.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, James H. Jackson; son-in-law, Larry McDowell; brother, Thomas C. Neal; and best friend Nina, of the Heritage at Lowman, who was her bible study and prayer partner for many years.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at The Heritage at Lowman for their attentive and loving care during her residence there.
