Eugenia González

María Eugenia Reina Cisneros de González passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6th surrounded by her five beloved children who came many miles to care for their mother in her final weeks.  She was born on February 21, 1927, in La Paz, Bolivia, and had lived in the U.S. for the last ten years.

Eugenia enjoyed traveling, entertaining in conjunction with her husband’s military career, knitting, but most of all, she enjoyed and adored her immediate and large extended family.  

She was predeceased by a brother and a sister and her devoted husband of 40 years, General Victor González Fuentes. She is survived by two sisters, Martha Reina Cisneros and Virginia Reina Cisneros de Gonzáles, both of La Paz, Bolivia.  Also surviving are her five beloved children:  Carmiña González de Urquizo (Marcelo), and Monica González de Ramallo (Roberto) of Bolivia; Victor González (Jan) of Chapin, Mauricio González (Liliana) of Chicago; and Angela González Stambolitis (Ted) of Gilbert.

Also surviving are her grandchildren:  Angela (Miguel), Juan Pablo, and Ignacio Urquizo; Jorge (Fernanda), Mauricio (Chelsea), and Nicolás Ramallo(Maritza); Veronica (Nathan) and Carmen González (Gordon); Steven and Kevin Morales; Jonathan and Victoria Stambolitis. She was also the proud Abuela Negra of six great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington on Monday, May 9th, at 3:00 pm.  The family will receive visitors there immediately after the service.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.  For those unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the following link:
