Obituary of Donald Duane Hawkins

A Celebration of Life service for Donald D. Hawkins, 71, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia. Pastor Brett DeYoung will officiate. The service will conclude with US Air Force National Guard honors. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral Home.

Mr. Hawkins passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Duane Hawkins and Dorcas Temple Hawkins. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who faithfully served his country in the US Air Force National Guard.

Don is survived by his children; son, Donnie Hawkins of Columbia; daughter, Mandy Heizer (Trae) of Columbia; grandsons, Tripp and Max Heizer; sister, Linda Mims of Anderson. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by a brother, David Michael Hawkins.
