Obituary of Retha Wood

Retha Wood, 93, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away March 26, 2018 in her home. Born January 22, 1925 in Edgefield, South Carolina to Clifford and Maggie Logue Owdom, she grew up in the small rural Tompkins community with five siblings, and extended family and friends. She married William Harold "Billy" Wood, a WWII veteran, December 24, 1946. She lost her devoted partner of over 50 years in 2005. Retha is survived by her three daughters, Diane Logan (Gary), Vicky Miller (Jim), and Patsy Powell (Ed); three grandchildren, Will Timmerman (Kimberli), Kim Calamos (Adrian) and Maggie Hunter (Dakota); and two great grandchildren, Paige and William Timmerman. She is also survived by her friend and companion, Judy Garrett; and her two cats, Freddie and Molly. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on March 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Funeral services begin at 1:30 p.m. Burial services immediately follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
