Obituary of Faye C. Comer

Faye C. Comer, 92, of Columbia, SC passed away March 22, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Columbia SC. She was born August 7, 1925 in York, SC. to Meek and Mary Gardner Carroll. She married Thomas Comer Sr. on August 10, 1946. Faye worked as a telegrapher at Western Union for 28 years. She also volunteered at Lexington Medical Center for over 10 years. Faye is survived by her daughter, Diane (Joe) Hill of Chapin; and two sons, Thomas Jr. (Betsy) Comer of Columbia, SC and Duayne Comer of Belmont, NC. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Joyce Turner of Winnsboro, SC and Agnes Roller of North Myrtle Beach, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 brothers, Donald and Wallace Carroll; 1 sister, Rosella Dover; and one grandchild, Luke Comer. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral celebration at the Thomspon Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Burial will follow the funeral service in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 875 Leesburg Rd. Columbia SC., 29209.
